grief integration

Grief is a natural response to loss and loss is a part of all change. Even when we get what we want, there is loss. Even when we choose something really good for ourselves, there is also loss. Making time to feel the reality of the change and allow the sadness, anger, dissapointment to take up space and have a voice, is essential to our individual and relational healing. This healing is ongoing, it’s a way of tending to ourselves and each other.

Grief is so often associated with death, but there is grief woven into so many life experiences. The grief of impermanence, the grief for what’s happening globally, eco grief, grief for the places we experience shame, grief for our ancestors and descendants, grief for the harm we’ve done to others, grief for our unmet expectations and unrealized dreams.
